This year, Power Circle Summit conference will be run online on the theme: Smart electrification for future business and growing cities.
Rapid electrification places high demands on both energy players and society. Electrification is a consequence as more and more cities and companies phase out fossil energy and convert it into renewable in real estate, industrial processes and transport. Sweden can face a similar wave of electrification as the one we had in the 1980s. But is today’s energy system enough?
Smart energy solutions have the potential to free up capacity in the electricity grids and provide more energy locally. How do we scale up new solutions into a coordinated resource that can benefit the city, the region or the entire community? What business opportunities arise along the way?
As part of the conference, EIT InnoEnergy co-organises the Innovation Race with the Swedish Energy Agency. The contest gives the opportunity to 5 start-ups to pitch their solutions. Pitches are available online and can be rated in terms of innovation, business potential and contribution towards sustainability. In addition to public vote, a jury of experts has been appointed to further the review and rank the participating start-ups. The winner receives 100.000 SEK (approx. 10K€) while the second and third finalists receive 50.000 and 25.000 SEK (approx. 5 and 2,5K€) respectively.
