Dr. Steven Chu is an American physicist and politician. He won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1997 and was the 12th United States Secretary of Energy in President Obama‘s government. Indeed, he was the first scientist to hold a Cabinet position in the United States. While at the DOE, he began several initiatives, including the prestigious ARPA-E (Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy) that has played a pivotal role in bringing experimental energy technologies closer to commercial applications. 

Bo Normark is a pivotal figure in the field of energy storage. Having served in the electrical engineering industry working for ABB for nearly 40 years, Normark became Thematic Leader for smart grids and storage at EIT InnoEnergy . In this role, Bo has been the mind behind the EBA, the “European Battery Alliance”. 

He is also a Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and Honorary Doctor at KTH.
