Since 1999, AMZ has been contributing to the development of Saxony as an automotive location and has played a significant role in ensuring that the predominantly medium-sized Saxon automotive suppliers have found their place in the global automotive value chains.

AMZ will offer various EBA Academy learning modules via its own learning platform. The goal is to transfer as much knowledge as possible in the short term on topics like energy storage in general, the different battery technologies and their modes of operation, on electrodes, but also battery management and their integration into energy grids, and thereby provide the training for the specialists of today and tomorrow. In the automotive industry in particular, possessing an in-depth understanding of the battery value chain will be fundamentally important for the success of the mobility transition and thus be instrumental for the future of the German and also Saxon automotive industry.

With an official mandate from the Vice-President of the European Commission, Maroš Šefčovič, EIT InnoEnergy is developing and expanding the EBA Academy, a training platform for all topics related to the rapidly developing battery industry in Europe, within the framework of the European Battery Alliance (EBA). It is to play a key role in equipping up to 800,000 skilled workers in the field for the requirements of this key industry by 2025.
