MIPIM 2018: accelerating the energy transition of tomorrow’s cities with the actors of the construction industry

The MIPIM, the international market of real estate professionals, took place from 13th March to 16th March in Cannes. This event is the place to be when it comes to tomorrow’s smart cities and gathers all actors of this sector with exhibitions, conferences, networking and projects awards.

A call for projects called “Inventing Greater Paris Metropolis 2” was organized as part of the MIPIM. One of the numerous events of the MIPIM was the launching event of this call for projects that 450 guests and 50 journalists attended. The call for projects allows to spot and select new solutions that could be used to build smart cities. Indeed, smart grids, energy production and storage for smart building, mobility systems and collective self-consumption are some of new challenges of energy transition. That is why the actors of the construction industry need to integrate innovative solutions in their future projects in order to conceive energy efficient ecosystems.

InnoEnergy was partnering with the Metropole du Grand Paris on this specific launching event. Indeed, InnoEnergy is the biggest innovation ecosystem for energy in Europe with its portfolio of more than 280 innovative solutions developed by start-ups or collaborative projects. Fabien Supizet, InnoEnergy business developer and a smart city expert, attended this event to represent InnoEnergy and to put forward some of the solutions it supports. Ogga with measurement of energy consumption, Stimergy with the digital boiler or DCbrain that makes grids smarter are few examples of InnoEnergy’s actors that could make the difference in the future of energy.

Thus, InnoEnergy seeks more than ever to get closer to municipalities to take part in building smart cities and to be considered as a key player in the energy transition.
