Diego Pavía moderates IX edition of the Global Annual Energy Meeting by ESADE
Diego Pavía, EIT InnoEnergy CEO, moderated the IX edition of the Global Annual Energy Meeting, dedicated to “The Geopolitics of the Green Deal” and organized by ESADE in partnership with the European Commission, represented by Kadri Simson, European commissioner for energy.
The energy sector to achieve the EU emissions commitments
The Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge minister, Teresa Ribera, the key speaker at the event, stressed the importance of the energy sector to achieve the European Union emissions commitments to 2030 and 2050, underlining the need to invest in the transformation of the energy sector. According to Ribera, the recovery must face investments in this regard to achieve “a more efficient and competent industry”, an essential sector for the creation of green jobs.

The minister also explained how the presidency of Joe Biden at the White House will be essential to reach the goals set by Europe and recalled the need to build alliances, the role of the financial world and technological innovation.
