[Conference] The sustainability transition: an energy future that Msc EMINE students are considering
A group of Grenoble INP – Phelma Nuclear Engineering students, including InnoEnergy’s MSc EMINE students, are organising an interactive conference later this month which will focus on energy sustainability issues, and discuss potential solutions for a more sustainable future. The event will consist of student presentations on a variety of topics, and will be headlined by talks from two exciting guest speakers: James Airbib and Eirik Pettersen.
- Eirik Pettersen is the co-founder of green-tech start-up Seaborg Technologies – developing a thorium-fueled waste burning Molten Salt Reactor (MSR). He is an MSc EMINE nuclear engineering graduate with background in NTNU, NBI, BarcelonaTech, INSTN, and PSI.
- James Arbib is the co-founder of RethinkX and founder of Tellus Mater – both dedicated to exploring the speed, scale and impact of disruptive technology, and its potential for solving some of the world’s most challenging problems. He has a Master’s in Sustainability Leadership from Cambridge, is also a qualified chartered accountant who also worked as an investment analyst covering utilities.
The conference is open to students, academic staff, industry representatives and anyone who is interested in the themes being discussed. It will take place in the Minatec Ampitheatre M001 at the Phelma Campus in Grenoble on 30 January 2018, at 15:30.
