InnoEnergy provides financial support for the activities in the PhD School programme so you can take advantage of some of the best courses and activities across Europe.

You should have received a template for your personal training plan with this handbook. Having confirmed your home organisation, your next step is to complete this template and return it to your PhD School officer. This will confirm your place on the PhD School.

The InnoEnergy PhD School offers access to a comprehensive set of training courses to complement your own research and give you key skills in innovation management and entrepreneurship. The combination of core and elective courses means you can choose which to take and when, giving you and your supervisor the chance to tailor your training to meet your needs, interests and timetable.

International placements – also referred to as international mobility – are a core component of the InnoEnergy PhD School. By undertaking work away from your home organisation, you have the opportunity to expand your skills and experience through exposure to different organisations and cultures. This is also an opportunity to develop and strengthen collaboration between you, your lab and academic, industrial or commercial organisations.

Every year, the InnoEnergy PhD School organises a three-day event in a major European city. It gives all participants in the PhD School the opportunity to attend presentations and workshops on common themes, explore potential collaborations, connect with business specialists, develop career-enhancing essential skills, and to get inspired by current candidates and recent graduates.

One of the main goals of the InnoEnergy PhD School is to give you the opportunity to find out research can be transformed into innovation.

To achieve this, we require all PhD School participants to write a proposal for an Innovation Project. This is a project that will bring a new technology or service to its intended market and contribute to energy transition.
