ENTECH Alumni Allen Mohammadi wins big AGAIN!

He and his brother Max co-founded Heartstrings^TM, an artificial intelligence technology that screens and provides early diagnoses of heart disease, after they suddenly lost their beloved grandmother to a heart attack.  Allen shares, “She had no signs or symptoms. I thought, what if we could have detected the disease earlier and saved her life?”. Their innovative technology claims a process that is twice as accurate, 10 times faster and 49 times cheaper than current methods to screen and diagnose heart diseases – and has been validated in clinical trials with more than 700 individuals successfully.

Allen is quick to commend InnoEnergy for providing the expertise (as well as the valuable advice and guidance) gained through his Master’s studies in the MSc ENTECH programme – to complement his extraordinary drive and personal motivation with pushing the idea forward. He is a shining example for candidates looking to go out on their own with their ideas but perhaps are held back by fear of failure. He offers this sage advice for stepping outside of any comfort zone: “We all have a lot of boundaries, but from my point of view, success starts where your boundaries end.”

Crossing his own boundaries and putting in a lot of hard work has paid off again – earning first place in 2017 Startup Open, defeating more than 1,000 start-ups from 82 different countries. “Hippogriff AB is a shining example of how a young firm has the potential to make a lasting impact on the world around them, and how one idea can work to change lives,” said Jonathan Ortmans, president of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) on their website.

Hippogriff AB and the other finalists gain membership into the GEN Starters Club, a community of gifted founders with full access to GEN mentors from its network across 170 countries. Allen shared on the GEN global website: “Attending the Global Entrepreneurship Congress was a fantastic experience, and winning Startup Open gave my brother and me the chance to present our innovation once again at a global level. We believe GEN is an extremely valuable network that can contribute to our vision of saving at least 1 million lives each year.” Allen is a shining example of how to put yourself out there, in order to actualise your dream.
