Thermal storage of renewable energy and its integration in a hybrid microgrid

High temperature, over the season, district use (100-1000 houses).

The need

Renewable energy is not always available when needed and, just as often, when energy is available the quantities produced amount to more than is required.

The solution

Groene warmte is a large subterranean buffer tank filled with water, which is used for storing heat and cold for use later on. By storing the sustainably generated energy surplus and using it in times of scarcity, renewable energy is used in an optimal way. Thanks to its large storage capacity and efficiency, energy can be stored across the seasons.

The value proposition

• District use (100-1000 houses).
• Construction costs are substantially lower than comparable systems.
• Ecovat is the first storage system that can store up to 90°C.
• Minimal visual impact.

Pitching sessions: Groene Warmte

Groene Warmte has created an underground thermal storage vessel with an integrated heat exchange system. The Groene Warmte Control System (software) connects the thermal storage vessel to electricity markets
