Since this year, Slovakia has been part of InnoEnergy, Europe’s largest sustainable energy accelerator. Its goal is to promote innovation and build community of innovators in areas such as energy efficiency, smart buildings and cities, energy storage and renewable energy sources. At the same time, InnoEnergy supports and invests in innovation at every stage of its development – from the creation of ideas to market entry. Through its Europe-wide network of more than 160 partners, it brings together inventors and industry, graduates and employers, researchers and entrepreneurs, businesses and markets.
“InnoEnergy Hub in Slovakia opens the door for start-ups and innovations in the energy field. Slovakia undoubtedly has the potential to succeed in this field, also through stronger collaboration of established energy players and technology startups. InnoEnergy is doing a great job in the EU, building our European ‘Silicon Valley’” – said Slovak Commissar Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the European Commission, in charge of Energy Union.
The opening of InnoEnergy Hub Slovakia took place on 29th September with the participation of Jakub Miler, CEO of InnoEnergy Central Europe and Peter Kolesar, CEO of Neulogy, InnoEnergy’s partner in Slovakia.
Thanks to InnoEnergy, Slovak energy start-ups will now have better access to international network of investors, experts, corporations and customers and to prestigious accelerator called Highway® by InnoEnergy, transforming ideas and projects into a market reality. For growing energy SMEs, InnoEnergy offers support in the form of expansion to European markets or additional funding. Larger companies have the opportunity to work with the most promising European energy start-ups and receive funding to bring innovations to the market. The company has already invested more than 157 million EUR to support major innovation projects and help companies launch new revolutionary technologies. InnoEnergy also provides master and doctoral studies for future energy leaders, as well as international programs, internships, or student involvement in corporate projects.
In Slovakia, InnoEnergy is present through Neulogy, an innovation and start-up consulting company. Neulogy will scout for potential investments and prepares Slovak start-ups for joining the acceleration program. “Slovakia has definitely much to offer in regard to energy solutions and innovative technologies. This is proven by high-profile companies successful on European and global level as well as start-ups in early development stage which are expected to grow and expand immensely,” states Peter Kolesár, CEO of Neulogy.
