Veolia Germany and InnoEnergy renew their cooperation and launch their third joint acceleration programme for start-ups. This time, the focus will be on innovative services for industries. Start-ups can apply by 13 April 2018.
The objective of this initiative is to start cooperations with up to five start-ups and to support them during an incubation period of up to two years. The package offered to the start-ups combines Veolia’s U-START programme and InnoEnergy’s Highway®. The offering is tailor-made and depends on the start-ups’ individual needs and their maturity level. It can include: proof-of-concept, a feasibility study with laboratory tests and business case validation, direct investment to boost growth as well as a large scale demonstration project and marketing concept.
In addition, the start-ups receive mentoring on industry specific support by Veolia via testing the feasibility of their ideas in an operative environment. Furthermore, the programme offers a business coaching by InnoEnergy, containing legal, communication, or business plan trainings adapted to the individual need of the start-ups. Finally, the winners will get access to the large InnoEnergy network of partners as well as free office space in the start-up ecosystem of the EUREF-Campus in Berlin.
The joint campaign aims at supporting European start-ups with sustainable ideas in the following fields:
- Value from data: predictive maintenance, operational excellence and performance, workforce management
- Decentral energy solution: energy storage, valorisation of residuals, micro-incineration, heat recovery
- Solutions for complex industrial processes: industrial symbiosis, optimisation & simulation, health & safety solutions
The call targets especially B2B solutions for commerce and/or industrial sites & industrial parks with focus on service provider topics. If possible the candidates should present solutions with social and/or environmental benefits, such as concepts that contribute to the decarbonisation of industry systems.
Etienne Petit, country director of Veolia Germany, welcomes this renewed cooperation between Veolia and InnoEnergy: “With this third campaign, Veolia and InnoEnergy offer new opportunities for startups in the industry sector, confirming Veolia Germanys repositioning towards industry clients in addition to the public sector”.
Dr. Christian Müller, CEO of KIC InnoEnergy Germany, says: “Due to their high energy consumption, large industry sites are facing the challenges of the transformation of the energy system in a special way, while also having a high potential for efficiency gains. We are extremely happy that we can combine Veolia’s strength in industry solutions with our expertise in developing start-ups in order to make a unique offering”.
Startups can apply online to the joint programme until 13 April 2018 at www.veolia.de/ustart.
