“Option start-up”: introducing jobs and skills related to innovation and entrepreneurship to French high school students

On Friday 13th October, InnoEnergy France opened their doors to two classes of junior and senior local high-school students and their teachers, as part of the national programme Option Startup.

On the initiative of the City of Paris and Paris&Co, Option Startup, is the national high school event that allows more than 10,000 young people from 20 academies to discover the places and people working in innovation and entrepreneurship in various fields (food, artificial intelligence, video games, security, finance, connected objects, science, energy…). Option Startup contributes to answering the following challenge: 70% of the children currently in kindergarten will occupy jobs that do not exist today.  Over 180 sites took part to the programme throughout France (incubators, accelerators, Fablab, coworking spaces…).

Isabelle Schuster, PhD, Education Director of InnoEnergy France, set up two workshops for the 50+ students and their teachers who visited us:

  • Presentation of InnoEnergy’s activities
  • Visit of the premises and the start-up incubator
  • Visit of the innovation showroom
  • Creativity workshops: “From having the idea to setting-up the start-up, how do you launch a business?”

Each workshop ended with the testimonials of the founders or team members of the InnoEnergy supported start-ups Stimergy, gulplug, eBikeLabs.
