Prof. Henry Chesbrough

Professor Chesbrough holds a PhD in Business Administration from Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley, an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in Economics from Yale University.
He is currently Professor at Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, and Executive Director of the Center for Open Innovation, which focuses on research and teaching related with the impact of globally distributed knowledge on growth, strategy and industrial innovation. In 2009-2010 he was appointed Visiting Professor at ESADE Business School.
From 1997 to 2003 he held the post of Assistant Professor at Harvard Business School, with a joint appointment in the area of Technology and Operations Management and in Entrepreneurial Management.
Professor Chesbrough is responsible for coining the term ‘Open Innovation’. He has worked in various Fortune 500 companies in fields related to: mass storage; application software; network and communications; information services. He is also an expert in after-sales services, support to the copy industry and the impact of Internet on the insurance industry.
His latest publications include: Open Innovation: The New Imperative for Creating and Profiting from Technology Models (HBS Press, 2003), which won the 2003 Best Business Book Award from Strategy & Business Magazine; Open Business Models: How to Thrive in the New Innovation Landscape (HBS Press, 2006), recognised as one of the top-ten books on innovation by Business Week Magazine; and Open Innovation: Researching a New Paradigm (Oxford, 2006).


Elena Bou, Innovation Director, InnoEnergy

Elena Bou is the Innovation Director and member of the executive board of InnoEnergy. She has been involved in this company since 2007 being member of the founder team of InnoEnergy.
Prior to that, she developed her professional career in the field of management consulting in both private and public companies, nationally and internationally, giving her the opportunity to manage and develop many European Multinational Projects involving a high degree of complexity and stakeholders and including the creation of two spin-offs.
Elena is also Associate Professor of ESADE Business School since 1998. Former Director of the Executive Master of Operations and Services and cofounder and former director of the GRACO Research Group (IIK) at ESADE. Consultant and researcher in the field of knowledge and Innovation Management and author of several publications.
Elena Bou holds a PhD in Management Sciences from ESADE-URL (Doctor Europeus) and has a degree in Business Administration and Management and an MBA from ESADE Business School. She also studied in Florida University and Copenhagen Business School.
