As part of the Open Space Studio for the Master Programme ENTECH, all ENTECH students get to experience at least one Winter Atelier during the programme. The Winter Atelier is a week filled with learning, networking and co-creating – in 2016 it took place at the end of November directly after the InnoEnergy Master’s School KICKOFF.
The Open Space Studio for ENTECH is the complementary 24 month training for students of the ENTECH Master Programme, focusing on three main areas: personal development; development of social skills, community and team building; and co-creation. Part of this training is the Winter Atelier, where students from the new intake meet up with students from the older intakes, industry and academia for a whole week of learning, insights and networking.
The Winter Atelier 2016 took place in a medieval castle in Rieneck, Germany, and covered a wide range of topics for both attending intakes, the current ENTECH batches 2015 and 2016. The first semester students, for example, learned and experienced intercultural competence, differences and perceptions, as well as how to foster network capabilities. The third semester students already started preparing for the next big step in their life – interviews for Master Theses and jobs – by learning how to pitch, especially in front of bigger audiences.
On the last day of the Winter Atelier, working professionals gave examples and advice on hiring, job interviews and job expectations in a fishbowl dialogue. Every student was free to join the discussion with their individual questions and/or roleplays.
The Open Space Studio format helped guide the process, in which guests and students alike continued to co-create collective insights, scopes and further action.

The schedule was accompanied by common activities that usually ended either on the slackline, at a bonfire in the castle yard or in the medieval bar, located in the cellar of the castle tower.
