We invest in innovation by bringing game-changing graduates from the classroom to the labour market.

The InnoEnergy Career Centre helps you to combine your academic learning with the practical career skills and insights you will need to secure a position in a leading energy company.  You will work in a multi-cultural environment with elite students from different countries.

We will help you to maximise your contribution to future of energy through our Game Changing Impact Programme. This programme will help you to understand how best to make a positive impact on the organisations you go on to work for.  Not everyone is a game changer, but everyone can make a game-changing impact. We will help you understand how you can make a game-changing impact to a team, to a company or to the energy sector as a whole.

The programme supports Master’s School students, PhD School students and graduates. The programme is underpinned by The GC Index® – an organometric and the first assessment tool to identify Game Changers and the game changing contributions individuals can make.  The GC Index® will provide you with the framework and language that gives you a clear focus for maximising your contribution to the world of work.

Through the Game Changing Impact Programme you will be developed and coached for 18 months to:

  • Understand how best to make a tangible impact and contribution to the industry
  • Prepare you for the working world
  • Make a better impact and contribution from day one of your employment

Over the 18 months, you will receive individual coaching sessions and continuous feedback on your progress. You will also engage in team exercises, working on real world examples and meeting business experts.  You will receive help to add depth, context and practicality to your technical research, enhancing your understanding of industry requirements and boosting your CV with highly prized, in-demand skill sets.

As part of the InnoEnergy CommUnity, members of the Programme also enjoy access to an unrivaled network of alumni, start-ups, entrepreneurs, researchers and partners, helping you find internships, placements and successful careers throughout the European energy industry.

Through the InnoEnergy Career Centre, you will be provided with a variety of different careers services, which include:

Workshops and webinars

The InnoEnergy Career Centre organises various workshops throughout the year. Typical topics include: ‘How to Find Your Way to Change the Game’ and ‘How to Turn Your Experience of Study Abroad into Career Success’. These workshops and webinars are for both first and second year students at the InnoEnergy Master’s School students and for all InnoEnergy PhD School students.

Interview training

The InnoEnergy Career Centre offers one-on-one sessions with a career coach to help you maximise your chances of interview success. During the session, coaches help you prepare for a face-to-face or online interview, by looking at your presentation style and body language, and helping you tackle difficult interview questions. They also discuss how best to include and present your skills and your InnoEnergy education to a prospective employer to show you know how to change the game.

Industry career advisers

The InnoEnergy Career Centre has several experts and Game Changers from the industry available to answer career related questions from InnoEnergy students. The advisers are also ambassadors of InnoEnergy students and will do what they can to support students in taking the next step in their search for a job or internship. Industry career advisers’ time is naturally limited, so InnoEnergy emails students about possible time slots.

Personal career coaching

Our graduates can be found working in corporate utilities, small and medium-sized companies, in research and development, pursuing a doctorate or starting their own business. Each of our graduates has found a different way to make an impact through understanding how they can make a game changing contribution in their team or business.

With so many choices, finding the right career is about more than matching skills and job descriptions. It’s about finding the right kind of organisation for your individual strengths, attributes and qualities. Career coaching at the InnoEnergy Career Centre helps you to understand more about what you want from a career, how you can contribute to game changing activities, where you want to start and where you want to end up, the type and size of organisation that interests you most, and the kinds of environment in which you typically flourish. Our personal career coaches will help you find the right organisation and the right role for you to create the biggest impact.

CV checks

There is no universal standard for a CV or résumé. Different countries tend to have different requirements for layout, personal information, photos and supporting application letters. Throughout the year, the InnoEnergy Career Centre runs CV checking sessions to help you create a CV that is appropriate for the company, the role and the country you are applying in, and ensures you show how you can contribute to an organisation and attract attention for these reasons.
