DCbrain, network optimisation software publisher, is raising 1.5 million euros in series A financing to accelerate its international development

[Press release] Paris, 22 February 2018 – Software publisher specialised in the optimization of complex networks (gas, electricity, heat, logistics), DCbrain has received 1.5 million euros in Series A financing from Aster, the Ville de Demain fund managed by Bpifrance in the framework of the Programme d’Investissements d’Avenir, and from other investors. DCbrain offers an ergonomic solution based on the Artificial Intelligence that digitises, simulates and optimises the daily performance of complex networks. This funding allows DCbrain to reassert its position as the French leader of AI solutions in the industrial world and to expand its area of activity in Europe.

From an innovative idea to national leadership in operational intelligence

DCbrain was created in 2014 with the objective of reducing energy consumption for fluid networks in data centres, using the data generated by the networks themselves. The start-up developed by optimising complex networks, combining deep learning and graph technologies. Its user-friendly interface allows on-site teams to optimally manage the networks and accelerate decision-making. In three years, DCbrain has expanded its scope to other types of actors, including managers of the distribution networks and energy transport, industrial players and logisticians.

The funding will allow DCbrain to strengthen its status as a disruptive leader on the infrastructure management software market and to expand its activities internationally. This pool follows a first launch in 2016 with the European company InnoEnergy, accelerator specializing in energy, and DCbrain’s historic investor. After industrialising its software for French industrial, energy and logistics champions, international deployment will begin in March, with the establishment of an office in Brussels covering the Benelux area. Deployment will continue on the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal), then in Germany for 2018, facilitated by InnoEnergy’s network of European business developers.

Confident and committed investors

Fabio Lancellotti, partner at Aster: “DCbrain’s solution, based on artificial intelligence, is unique in that it allows network managers to solve daily challenges quickly and to anticipate system flaws. This principle of optimization through digitalization is applied specifically to the energy and transport sectors, matching Aster’s areas of expertise, investor specialising in the industries of the future.

Laure Michel, Director of investment at Bpifrance: “DCbrain has a unique technology for the management of complex networks. The company has already demonstrated both its technical and commercial solidity. We’re very pleased to help DCbrain solidify its position as the French leader on its market of services related to smart cities and to help it in its international development.”

Olivier Muquet, Business Creation Manager at InnoEnergy: “DCbrain was selected in late 2015 for the InnoEnergy Highway® acceleration program. It is a company typical of the increasingly pronounced digitisation of the energy sector: DCbrain wants to quickly make its solutions available to as many players as possible. This is entirely in sync with our identity as a European accelerator. In this way, DCbrain benefits fully from the support of our European business developers.
