InnoEnergy together with its Greek HUB KiNNO Consultants Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Bank of Greece.
This cooperation will contain investigating synergies between actions and initiatives organized by InnoEnergy in Greece and similar actions carried out by the Bank. It aims at encouraging the growth of young entrepreneurship and innovation in the energy sector. The future common projects will include PowerUp! competition organized by InnoEnergy for Central European start-ups working on innovative clean-tech solutions. National Bank of Greece will be able to invite entrepreneurs to the NBG Business Seeds financing and mentoring program.
InnoEnergy’s HUB manager in Greece, Yiannis Geragotellis, stressed that:
“We believe that the cooperation between InnoEnergy and the National Bank of Greece will have a very positive impact on the innovation ecosystem in Greece. Our cooperation brings together the NBG Business seeds programme, one of the most important initiatives for supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in Greece and InnoEnergy, the biggest cleantech accelerator in the world, with the goal to identify energy startups and SMEs in Greece and take their ideas to the global market faster”.
NBG Business Seeds is an integrated program designed to foster innovative and export-oriented entrepreneurship. NBG Business Seeds aims at showcasing innovative ideas, training and mentoring young entrepreneurs, as well as providing infrastructures, networking and financing. Working together with the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), representatives of the shortlisted proposals attend training programs on entrepreneurship. In addition, NBG provides a range of targeted financial support actions in partnership with The People’s Trust, business lending and participation in company equity, as well as mentoring and networking actions in cooperation with Google, Grant Thornton, Watson, Farley & Williams, Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI), the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Census, ΜcKinsey, KEMEL and Endeavor Greece. NBG participates as private investor in selected Venture Capital Funds of Equifund: Marathon, Metavallon, Unifund and bigPi.
